Course Description

A graduate level discussion of the role of sensation in philosophy of art, and its relation to conceptions of objectivity and perfection. We'll aim to transform our understanding of a range of issues raised within traditional philosophy of art (for example, in the work of Plato, Aristotle, Aquinas, Hume, Kant, Nietzsche and Heidegger) by drawing upon relevant contemporary approaches in metaphysics, theory of knowledge and philosophy of mind.
