Comparative Contract Law

This course provides an introduction to comparative contract law through the study of selected issues concerning the formation, content, performance, and termination of contracts. Adopting a comparative perspective, the course examines how different jurisdictions address similar legal problems and explores the legal, historical, and policy considerations underlying the solutions adopted. In an increasingly interconnected legal and commercial environment, lawyers are often required to understand and evaluate legal solutions developed in different jurisdictions. Through the discussion of cases, legislation, and scholarly materials, the course explores how comparative legal analysis deepens the understanding of contract law and provides valuable tools for legal research, cross-border transactions, and international legal practice.
