This course immerses students in the global leisure cruise industry—the economics, markets, and organizations that comprise the fastest-growing sector of the hospitality industry. The course features industry executives from a leading cruise company, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd., who describe current practice in cruise finance, pricing, ship design, marketing, distribution, operations, and human resources management. Students conduct individual and team analyses that examine opportunities and challenges across the cruise industry. An optional 3-day cruise offers an insider look at cruise operations and the guest experience.
