People with technical skills are called upon to help their community with its needs, such as advising a local government or non-profit, serving on a board of directors, or creating infrastructure like a pedestrian bridge or community playground. This course will prepare you for this type of engagement by planning, designing, and building an infrastructure service project to benefit the local community. You will develop skills in using power tools, project management, risk management, engineering judgment, communicating with non-experts, teamwork, and leadership. The hard and soft skills that you acquire will advance your career, regardless of whether you go into consulting, academia, government, non-profit service, or some other field.
