What would it mean to refuse to procreate, because of climate change? What kind of action is this refusal: the ultimate personal sacrifice, cavalier selfishness, or a perhaps a growing social movement? Could having children be a radical act of hope and a commitment to survival? This class explores the meaning and power behind both paths as intentional engagement in climate-motivated action, and provides graduate and advanced undergraduate students with an overview of perspectives related to understanding fertility, family, and reproduction against the backdrop of the climate crisis.
